When, oh when, will Illustrator come to me?  I’m growing tired of using Word and Paint as my drawing tools, but what can I do?  My resources are pretty limited, but here’s what about 2 hours of drawing, clicking, copy+pasting, and edit/undoing has led us to.  Our Christmas Special header.  Hope you like it!

Yesterday, I headed over to Linens ‘N Things and bought my mom the cookware set she deserves.  It’s a stainless steel 10 pc set from Emerilware (sound familiar?  BAM!) and the best part….comes with a free cast iron pan instantly and a 7″ kitchen knife (which I have to do the mail in rebate type of thing with).  I’m so excited.  It was a bit pricey, at $200, but I think it’s one of those sets that will stand the test of time.  [I tried to make that part sound epic.]

Now I need to save up some more money so I can buy a set for Sergio’s Mama.

I found this super helpful video on YouTube yesterday.  I have some experience with silkscreening and this is pretty close to the process we did.  All the areas are pretty much covered here (and more!  As you’ll see toward the end) and if you’re wondering where you can buy the materials to do this project, then Blick or any other art supply store is a good place to check.

Here’s a video for this pretty cool new art form.  The idea the artist had behind the movement was to give a chance for blind people and those and can see to communicate and for once, not to feel like they are at a disadvantage.  I think it’s a well intentioned idea and maybe it’ll inspire other street art forms that will make us come together.

[This isn't the original version I saw.  I'm having a hard time with the WordPress video uploader....here’s a link to a more informative video.
