I’m not much of a gamer, but it never hurts to learn a bit more…  Once you check out these sites and podcasts, you’ll be the star of all things video game conversations–you’ll make them wonder, “how does she/he do it all?”

A site called cheapassgamer.com is a good site to look for sales and deals on games.

All Games Interactive:  allgames.com

Orange Lounge Radio:  orangeloungeradio.com

and

Video Games Outsider:  videogameoutsiders.com

More of a hands on learner?  Check out CheapAssGamer.com for video game sales and deals you won’t find anywhere else.

*Thanks again to ajtwist for this video game info

For today’s theme, I asked my trusty best friend, ajtwist, to write the shopping guide and boy did he deliver!  He’s a frequent video game tournament attendee (and he enters and wins a few too!) and is always up to date on the latest video game news (on almost all platforms).  You can see some of his video and music work at Twisted Productions.  Thanks AJ for this amazingly comprehensive list!

MARIO GALAXY for NINTENDO WII
$49.99
People are saying it’s a must buy for any Wii owner. It might even be one of the greatest games of all time! Right under Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time!
It’s game play is very similar to Mario 64.

ASSASSIN’S CREED for X-BOX 360
$59.99
A game with a whole in style of game play. It’s probably the first of its kind. Although the game play can be repetitive, it’s still a fun and amazing game. The game has a lot of potential still. Worth getting for anyone who has a 360 and loves action games.

mass-effect.jpg

MASS EFFECT for X-BOX 360
$59.99
A must have for any RPG lover with a 360. Might be the Best Game of the Year! There is so much to do and from what I understand, whatever you do will affect the ending of the story, which is said to be an amazing story. I also hear the classes of character are great and you can’t seem to go wrong with any of them. You should also check out the prequel novel. Characters in the game do make reference to events in the book so don’t miss out on that.

MASS EFFECT: REVELATION
$7.99 on Amazon
This is a book which is a prequel to the game MASS EFFECT for X-BOX 360.

ROCK BAND for X-BOX 360 and PS3
$169.99
A must have also for any music game lover. If you love Guitar Hero, you’ll just end up liking it after picking up THIS game.
Not only can you play guitar in this game, you can play drums or be the singer using the mic! All 3 are included. And if you so happen to have another guitar for bass, start a gaming band with 3 other friends! Yeah, it’s a bit pricey, but great!
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom of the Hourglass for NINTENDO DS
$34.99
A whole new adventure in your pocket, or on the go. I hear it’s a great game unlike some of the past portable Zelda games. Another must have for a Zelda lover with a DS. If they don’t have a DS or it looks like it’s time to get rid of the DS “Fat” from 2 years ago, try the special edition GOLD DS Lite bundle with the game included for about $160 or $149.99 on Amazon. The DS Lite even has a printed Tri-Force symbol on it!

cookingmama.jpg

COOKING MAMA 2 : DINNER WITH FRIENDS for NINTENDO DS
$29.99
Another Cooking Momma game for the DS. If you loved the first this one should be even better with even more recipes! Probably even more familiar ones for us Americans.

*Good games for a low price, a bit old but still good.
EARTH DEFENSE FORCE 2017 for X-BOX 360
$39.99

CRACK DOWN  for X-BOX 360
$39.99
*And Wii games for under $30
JENGA
yes the game where you pull out block and stack them on top while trying to NOT knock over the tower is now playable on your Wii.

Resident Evil 4
Great Game to play on the Wii with the Wii-mote!

zapper.jpg

LINK’S CROSSBOW TRAINING
This game comes with the new Wii Zapper, which is an accessory used to place the Wii-mote and nun-chuck in to make a gun.

I’m getting one step closer to finishing my Christmas Shopping!  I just recieved the gift I purchased for my sister’s boyfriend (the complete series of Arrested Development, only one of the best shows EVER), I just need to find the pots and pan set my mom wants, I think I found a book I want to get for my dad (which reminds me, I should order it now), and now I just need to figure out what to get my sister and friends….

Finally, some rain in So Cal.  I love falling asleep with the sound of the rain drops hitting the ground and the cars driving by through the small puddles and damp ground.  What a peaceful sound.  lol.  To live in the city…

I’ve had this blog for I think about 3 weeks now and I’m loving every minute and every word that I put into this blog.  Some of you may know the future plans I have for My Wooden Robot which includes (but not limited to) some guest writers, including HandyMan Chronicles (once he gets back from vacation) and Mommy & Me Cooking Sessions.  I’m hoping for lots of others!

So while I blog away everyday and I become more and more dedicated to My Wooden Robot, while I’m thinking of the next post to put in here, I design stationary (some of which you’ve seen here on the site, and a few others I have yet to post).  All together, I’ve compiled about 5-6 different designs and once I finalize the colors and such, you’ll be able to see these stationary and notecard sets on Etsy.  I’m hoping to shoot for end of December–lets say January FOR SURE.  I’m not sure what I’m waiting for, but I’ll be posting them on Etsy soon and hopefully I’ll earn enough money to pay for a domain!  *Fingers Crossed*
